Volunteering with Sports Programs & Activities

Many of our sports programs depend heavily on the efforts of adult and youth volunteers to help educate and mentor the youth of our community. They provide an essential link between the youth and the sports they participate in to help them learn an appreciation for the sport and sportsmanlike conduct while having fun at the same time. Many volunteer positions are available within each program. All of the positions require a criminal background check as a matter of safety for all of our participants. Contact the Recreation Office at 427-9858.

Coaching

Our basketball and football programs require knowledgeable coaches and assistant coaches with a love for the game. Coaches guide the children through preseason training then regular season games. We accept volunteer applications for fall football starting in June. For winter basketball we start accepting volunteer applications in October.

Commissioners

Football, basketball, and swim team all need someone who can attend regular season games as well as help plan and coordinate league activities. These representatives help to make sure that the sports programs run smoothly and all players have a great time.

Adult Chaperones

Also many of our youth and teen functions are in need of chaperones in order to safely take place. Adult chaperones help to ensure children are safely participating in the program and having a good time. Chaperones are always helpful at any youth events.
